Egypt's 4G Wireless Spectrum is on the Way
According to reports, Egypt has provided for the country's communications enterprises 4G mobile fast wireless network required for the preparation of the wireless spectrum, which is Egypt's long delayed high-speed telecommunications service is a critical step forward.
Egyptian Communications Minister Yasser al-Kadi said: "we are now ready to deliver 4G mobile frequencies to any enterprise, while also waiting for enterprises to complete the preparation of the 4G spectrum."
Egypt's fixed line telephone monopoly, Egypt Telecom, said it would provide 4G operations within a year of gaining the appropriate spectrum.
Egypt has sold four 4G licences in 2016 as part of a long-awaited plan to reform the telecommunications industry and a policy plan to increase revenues. Egypt's three largest mobile operators Vodafone, Egypt, Orang and Etisalat have all received the 4G licenses.
