Sweden Is About to Release the 5G Spectrum
Swedish postal Telecommunications Authority (PTS) announced plans to release the 100-200MHz spectrum within the 3.4GHz-3.6GHz band, as well as the 26GHz band within the 1000MHz spectrum for 5G testing.
The official said that these two bands together with the 700MHz band was identified as the first European 5G deployment band.
In a public discussion in February of this year, PTS received views on its spectrum planning proposals, testing and investigating market intentions. Officials said the nine companies provide feedback during the support of the spectrum test plan. The test will be launched in 2020, when PTS will deploy large commercial networks.
