South Africa ICASA Issues The Radio Frequency Assignment Plan For The IMT 2300 Frequency Band

On May 15, 2024, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) issued Government Gazette No. 50657, which details the Radio Frequency Spectrum Assignment Plan (RFSAP) for the IMT 2300 Frequency Band.
The IMT 2300 band ranges between 2300 MHz and 2400 MHz and will be used for IMT-TDD. The RFSAP also covers the minimum key characteristics considered necessary to make the best use of the available frequencies, such as maximum radiated power.
This RFSAP comes into effect on the date of its publication. The final Radio Frequency Assignment Plan for the IMT 2300, published in Government Gazette No. 47788 (Notice 2890 of 2023) on December 20, 2022, is hereby repealed.
