MeitY Of India Announces Market Surveillance For BIS Certification

On July 5, 2024, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) of India announced the circular regarding market surveillance for products under BIS certification.
Key details are as follows:
1. Surveillance costs will be borne by manufacturers or licensees.
2. Samples will be randomly selected, purchased from the open market, and tested in BIS-recognized laboratories.
3. Registered manufacturers (factories) must update their contact details and provide necessary information and documents promptly per request.
