India TEC Issued Key Regulatory Updates Under MTCTE Framework

 

The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of India has recently announced three regulatory updates under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) framework:

 

1.     Amendment to MTCTE Procedure V3.0 (TEC 93009:2024) issued on January 14, 2025

TEC confirmed that the note under Clause 17.2 (v) has been deleted with immediate effect.

Clause 17.2 (v) previously required Indian OEMs/AIRs to submit company shareholding patterns. 

2.     NB-IoT Test Exemptions Extended issued on January 29, 2025

TEC issued exemptions from test report submissions for NB-IoT interface parameters under MTCTE, extending them until June 30, 2025.

3.     Draft Telecom Standards & Certification Rules, 2025 issued on February 1, 2025

TEC drafted a structured certification framework for telecom equipment to ensure compliance with national security and quality standards.
