China MIIT Issued Management of Frequency Use and Technical Requirements for Walkie-Talkies in the 150MHz and 400MHz Bands
On February 17, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) issued a new regulation—"Notice on the Management of Frequency Use and Technical Requirements for Walkie-Talkies in the 150MHz and 400MHz Bands".
This regulation specifies the requirements for the use of radio frequencies for walkie-talkies operating in the 137-167MHz and 401-423.5MHz bands (hereinafter referred to as the 150MHz and 400MHz bands, respectively). The general frequency band allocation is as follows:
1. The 406.21-407.70MHz band is designated for shared walkie-talkies.
2. The 409.75-409.99MHz band is designated for public walkie-talkies.
3. Part of the 150MHz and 400MHz bands are allocated for dedicated walkie-talkies.
4. Part of the 156.025-162.025MHz band is allocated for marine walkie-talkies.
The regulation shall come into effect from March 1, 2025.
