India Plans to Open IMT 6G Technology by 2030

On March 12, 2025, the Ministry of Communications of India issued a press release on the "Introduction of 6G Spectrum Technology." The frequency bands 4400-4800 MHz, 7125-8400 MHz, and 14.8-15.35 GHz are being studied by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) use.

India is actively developing the necessary infrastructure and strategic plans for 6G and targeting the launch of IMT 6G technology (IMT2030) by 2030.
