India Publishes MoM Regarding Transition to IS/IEC 62368-2023 Standard

Following up on the MRT IA news dated July 25, 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India has recently published the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) regarding the three-year transition plan for products BIS certified under IS 13252 and IS 616, moving to the updated IS/IEC 62368-2023 standard. This transition will affect 42 product categories, including AR/VR devices.

MeitY is expected to release detailed transition guidelines and timelines, while BIS will provide implementation guidelines and may revise series rules as part of the migration process.
