Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued two new notifications regarding Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) scheme, please find below summarized overview.
1. On 19 December 2022, TEC released notification regarding the rule of submitting test reports for SCS products under MTCTE scheme.
The notification confirms the modification to clause 6.2 of Testing and Certification Procedure for MTCTE (No. TEC93009:2021); key point is to emphasize and confirm the necessity of submitting local test reports under Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS).
2. On 3 January 2023, TEC released notification regarding acceptance of valid certificate issued by BIS or test reports issued by BIS Recognized Lab(s) against safety requirements under MTCTE.
The notification confirms the possibility of using BIS certificates/reports from accredited lab for MTCTE, if such Safety test standard(s) is mentioned in the applicable Essential Requirements (ERs) of MTCTE.
