Nepal Opens a Public Consultation on IPv6
On June 4, 2025, the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) formulated the “IPv6 Migration Byelaw, 2082 (2025)” for the adoption, deployment, and management of IPv6 networks within Nepal, and is now soliciting opinions from all relevant parties.
This “IPv6 Migration Byelaw” aims to ensure a smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6 protocols by defining mandatory reporting requirements, setting standards and best practices for network configuration, facilitating compliance monitoring, and providing provisions for dispute resolution. Ultimately, the goal is to promote the effective and secure implementation of IPv6 networks to support the growth and stability of Nepal's telecommunications infrastructure.
All interested parties are invited to submit comments and suggestions to the NTA by July 4, 2025.
