MIIT Released New Rules Of Type Approval Certificate And Number

On August 31, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in P.R.C (CMIIT) released a new circular which is about "Radio Transmitting Equipment Type Approval Certificate Format" and "Radio Transmitting Equipment Type Approval Number Coding Rules". Compared with the previous regulations, the key revisions of new regulations are as follows:
1. The information of Technical Scheme/RF module will be indicated on the new format of SRRC type approval certificate, as well as the company name and address of factory.
2. The type approval number (CMIIT ID) will change from 10-character format to 12- character format, and consist of five parts as follows:
CMIIT ID: AABCCCDDDEEEE
AA ---Year Code (2 digits)
B --- Equipment Code (1 capital letter)
CC --- Area Code (2 digits)
DDD --- Applicant Code (3 characters, with at least 1 digit)
EEEE --- Independent code (4 characters, the first character must be capital letter or digit, and the last three characters must be digits)
The new regulations will come into effect from December 1, 2023.
