Singapore IMDA has Launched Public Consultation on Cellular Devices
On 13rd October 2021, Infocomm Media Development Authority(IMDA) in Singapore has issued the Draft Technical Specification for Security Requirements for Cellular Devices (IMDA TS CD-SEC Issue 1) for public comment.
This Specification defines the minimum technical security requirements for the design and management of Devices implemented on cellular networks to better safeguard communication networks from security threats in the area of connection efficiency. It also sets out to minimize the vulnerability of the individual cellular Devices, ensuring that these devices are better protected and secured in the areas of Access Control and Over-The-Air (OTA) updating.
This Specification is applicable to cellular Devices which support Section 7 on Connection Efficiency Requirements of the GSMA TS.34 v5.0: IoT Device Connection Efficiency Guidelines, and also subject for compliance either with IMDA Technical Specification for Internet of Things (IMDA TS IOT) or IMDA Technical Specification for Cellular Mobile Terminal (IMDA TS CMT).
All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions to IMDA before 27th October 2021.
