US Department of Energy Issues Rechargeable Battery Products (BCS) Energy Efficiency Regulations
The United States Department of energy (DOE) released the final version of the energy efficiency code for BatteryCharger (BC) products in June 13, 2016, 81 FR 38266. law and August 12, 2016, and the enforcement date was June 13, 2018. After June 13, 2018, all BC products sold in the US market will be required to comply with the DOE regulations and complete the registration on the DOE certification management system CCMS.
Battery charger BatteryCharger (BC) refers to a product that can charge a battery for a consumer product, including a battery charger that is integrated with a terminal product. It basically covers all the consumer electronics that can charge 2 batteries, such as mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, mobile power, battery charger, electric toothbrush, wireless charge and so on.
According to 10CFR430Subpart B Appendix Y test BC's 24h energy consumption E24, standby mode power Psb, maintenance mode power Pm, shutdown mode power Poff and battery discharge energy Ebatt, the unit energy consumption UEC is calculated, but the energy consumed in the charging process is not charged into the battery. The regulations require that the unit energy consumption of UEC should not exceed the limit.
