Thailand High-Priced Auction Spectrum

According to reports, Thailand is about to usher in the 850MHz and 1.8GHz spectrum auction, the base price of the spectrum or close to 2015.

In the 2015 auction, experts pointed out that the regulatory reserve (NBTC) set the floor price above the global average. In the second round of auctions, bids up to 233 billion Thai baht, a record high.

It is reported that this auction a 10MHz 850MHz spectrum reserve price of 37.98 billion baht (about 1.14 billion US dollars), a 30MHz 1.8GHz band spectrum reserve of 37.45 billion baht. The 1.8GHz band will auction a total of three 30MHz spectrum.

The NBTC plans to release a detailed draft in January 2018, a spectrum auction in May and a license in June. In addition, NBTC also tripled the margin of the bid to prevent the recurrence of the default after Jas International won the bid last year.
