FCC Announced DoC & VoC Plans to Formally Change SDoC Policy
November 2, 2017 The FCC updated FCC Part 2.960 on its website and officially announced the official implementation of the FCC SDoC certification program.
SDoC policy is as follows:
1. The equipment supplier must be a U.S. local company and do not need to submit an equipment authorization application to the Commission or the TCB.
2. The FCC allows the use of electronic tags whose required information must be displayed on the product or otherwise provided, such as an FCC identification number and a declaration of conformity.
3. For devices licensed using the Supplier Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) program, they are not necessarily tested in a certification testing laboratory approved by the FCC, or may be used in other approved testing laboratories.
4. The policy has been effective from November 2, 2017 on the date of publication but there is still a one-year transition period until 2 November 2018.
(1) The transition period may choose to continue to use FCC VoC and DoC certification process;
(2) FCC VoC and DoC certification process before the transition period is always valid, if the product is modified, you need to re-certification;
(3) SDoC requires the addition of a Declaration of Conformity document attached to the equipment. The Declaration of Conformity shall include the necessary information such as the name, address or contact URL of the U.S. local supplier.
