The Nigerian Telecom Industry Will Start Internal Spectrum Trading Next Month
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) announced that it will allow spectrum carriers to operate between December and December.
Last week, Umar Garba Danbatta, NCC's executive vice president, released the news to the news media after reviewing the guidelines on spectrum transactions drafted by stakeholders. Danbatta said allowing operators to trade spectrum is to make the best use of limited resources, but also to encourage investors to provide higher quality telecommunications services. After approval by the NCC board of directors, spectrum trading activities will begin next month.
