Malaysia MCMC Announces the Implementation of 5G Dual Network

On December 31, 2024, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published Ministerial Direction No.4 of 2024 regarding the 5G Dual Network.

According to this direction, the Government of Malaysia has decided to enhance the 5G single wholesale network (SWN) model and transition it into a 5G dual network model.

The Direction may be cited as “Ministerial Direction on 5G Network Implementation and Revocation of the Ministerial Direction on the Deployment of 5G Infrastructure and Network, Direction No.3 of 2021”, and shall come into operation on the date of registration.
