India Published CCTV Security Compliance Update

The Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced that from April 9, 2025, compliance with the "Essential Requirement(s) for Security of CCTV" will be mandatory.

New BIS license applicants after this date must comply with these requirements. Existing BIS license holders under IS 13252 (Part 1):2010/IEC 60950-1:2005 must also ensure compliance by April 9, 2025, and submit the required test reports online.

Analog CCTV Cameras are exempt from this requirement, as clarified by MeitY on March 12, 2025.
